September 24 is National Voter Registration Day!

National Voter Registration Day is a national holiday celebrating our democracy. It was first observed in 2012 and has been growing in popularity every year since. Held on the fourth Tuesday of September, it take place on September 24, 2019.
Every year millions of Americans find themselves unable to vote because they miss a registration deadline, don’t update their registration, or aren’t sure how to register. National Voter Registration Day wants to make sure everyone has the the opportunity to vote.
Even though this is not a presidential election year, there are important state and local offices and ballot measures that will be on your ballots. It's important to be #VoteReady and turnout on Election Day, November 5, 2019.
Use one of these resoruces to get registered to vote for the upcoming election:
- TurboVote (sponsored by the Haas Center Stanford Votes effort) will help you navigate your state's voter registration and absentee ballot processes. TurboVote will even email or text you reminders before Election Day
- State Students Guides (a project of the nonpartisan Fair Elections Center, Campus Vote Project) provides voter registration information for all fifty states
- California "My Voter Status" Unsure if you are registered to vote in California? The Secretary of State's My Voter Status page will help you find out if you are registered, where you are registered, your party preference, polling place, and more.
- California Online Voter Registration Register to vote in California via the California Secretary of State’s Online Voter Registration System.
