New databases in Chinese collection

Following is a list of selected Chinese-language databases acquired during the 2018-2019 year.  For further information, please contact Zhaohui Xue, Chinese Studies Librarian.

Hanyu da cidian 漢語大詞典 and Kangxi zidian 康熙字典 - Integrates Han yu da ci dian, Han yu da ci dian ding bu and Kangxi zi dian (Biao dian zheng li ben) with full-text search capability. It provides one-stop search for etymology, pronunciation, definition and documentary evidence in these three Chinese language reference works.

Diaolong: Full-text database of Chinese and Japanese ancient books 雕龍 : 中日古籍全文資料庫 - Provides full-text access to a number of collections of pre-modern writings, including the Daozang 道藏, Daozang jiyao 道藏辑要, Sibu congkan 四部叢刊, Yongle dadian 永樂大典, Gujin tushu jicheng 古今圖書集成, Siku quanshu 四庫全書, and more.

Lidai bieji ku 歷代別集庫 - Full-text searchable collection of literary anthologies dating from the Qin through the late Qing.

Xiao bao 小报 - Collection of tabloid newspapers published mostly in Shanghai during the years 1897-1949.

Zhonggong dangshi qikan shuju ku 中共党史期刊数据库 - A collection of over 200 different pre-1949 periodicals documenting the rise of the Chinese Communist Party.

National Population Census of China 中国人口普查数据库 - Contains a full-text and data archive of census, with data back to 1982 and categorized by geographic or administrative divisions.
