Welcome Christopher Walker to the Archive of Recorded Sound

Christopher Walker

Please welcome Christopher Walker to the Stanford Libraries and the Archive of Recorded Sound.

Before moving west, Chris processed paleobotany collections for the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History and spent many years working at George Washington University processing archival collections that ranged from labor unions to Washington DC vernacular music. Since starting at the Archive of Recorded Sound Chris has been creating metadata for previously digitized recordings, but when we return to campus Chris will start processing archival collections and preparing finding aids for publication. During the Santa Clara county shelter in place order it may not be that easy to catch Chris at the water cooler but he is on slack, has email, and is engaged with the other forms of communication we are embracing. So please provide a hearty welcome to Chris and the important role he is filling that expands archival collection access for researchers the world over.
