This collection documents events in the Middle East that took place between 2007-2015. Content includes blogs, social media, and news sites about Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Egypt, Syria, Kurdistan, and other countries. Archived content is in Arabic, English, Persian, Turkish, French, Kurdish, Pushto, German, Syriac, Dutch, Indonesian, Italian, Kabyle, Spanish and Swedish. Topics represented include politics and government; political parties; elections; Islam and politics; and more.

The collection is curated by C. Ryan Perkins, Librarian for South Asian and Islamic Studies, and was created by former Stanford librarian, John Eilts. Behzad Allahyar, former Principal Middle East Cataloger, has helped to review and enhance the metadata, and Jessica Cebra, Metadata Management Librarian, has overseen the metadata production.
