70% of all new compounds registered at CAS can only be found in patents.  It is for this reason that patents are extremely important for chemical research.  We will explore the structure of patents and how to locate the information that is needed.  We will also look at the various strengths of the Reaxys tool to locate the desired information in the lengthier patents. The Reaxys interface also offers a number of fields that can help one find the patent of interest.
