Introduction to protocols.io and the art of writing protocols
Research papers and protocol organization in labs often lack detailed instructions for repeating experiments. protocols.io is a secure platform for developing and sharing reproducible methods. Researchers can create step-by-step, interactive, and dynamic protocols that can be run on mobile or web. Protocols can be shared with colleagues, collaborators, the scientific community or make them public, with ease and efficiency. Real-time communication and interaction keep protocols up to date with versioning, forking, Q&A, and troubleshooting. Public protocols receive a DOI (Digital Object Identifier). The protocols.io Premium edition is available for the Stanford community (learn more).
This workshop led by Anita Bröllochs of protocols.io consists of 3 parts:
- Introduction to protocols.io - protocols.io's mission, discovering public protocols, platform features, using ORCID with your protocols, and sharing your protocol with a DOI.
- "The Art of Writing Protocols" - Receive practical tips for more reproducible methods and you will be equipped with a list of best practices for writing protocols.
- Hands-on - Set up your free protocols.io Stanford Carbon account and start working on your own protocols. Please bring your own protocols that you can start working on during the workshop!
This event is open to Stanford affiliates only.
