Tabletop Tuesdays: The Many Lives of Trees at Hohbach Hall
In addition to having a tree as the unofficial Stanford mascot, the Stanford community is surrounded by, and in many ways defined by, trees. The name Palo Alto refers to the landmark tree, which appears on the university seal. As biological specimens, the trees of Stanford are remarkable in their own right.
The storms of this academic quarter have downed many trees around campus and across the Bay Area. As the cleanup continues in the weeks ahead, join us to learn more about the trees of Stanford and to appreciate their important cultural and environmental impact. There will be tree-related materials on display and this month's featured game will be Photosynthesis, in which players cultivate their own trees through the entire lifecycle of a forest.
Tabletop Tuesdays is an event series held on the third Tuesday of each month. At these events, we'll feature a selection of board games and collection items from across SUL's holdings around a specific theme. Drop in to learn about the month's featured game(s) and/or try some of the board games we have for open play at the Silicon Valley Archives.
