The first in a series of exhibitions on printmaking processes is now on view in the reading room of the Art & Architecture Library. Woodcut and relief printing, intaglio, lithography, and screen printing have all been used to produce book illustrations at various points in printing history.

Latvia, one of the three Baltic states, is a small energetic country with a rich culture and history. Through wars, occupations, and repressions, Latvians have been able to sustain their language, culture and national memory, which have enabled the country to recover from the half-century long Soviet annexation with an enormous speed after regaining the independence in 1991.
