We are pleased to announce that Mieko Mazza has joined the East Asia Library as a Japanese Technical Services Librarian. In this position she will be responsible for cataloging Japanese language materials and supervising Japanese acquisitions workflows.

Mieko came to us from the Yale East Asia Library, where she worked as a Catalog Librarian for Japanese materials since 2009.  Before that she worked at the C.V. Starr East Asian Library at Columbia University as Bibliographic Assistant.

Mieko has a B.A. from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, an M.A. from Ohio University in International Affairs, and an MLIS from the Palmer School of Library and Information Science, Long Island University. She also has a background in translation and considerable academic training in Southeast Asian studies, which is why she knows Burmese, as well as English and Japanese!

Welcome, Mieko!
