Finding items

In preparation for the merger, both libraries transferred large numbers of items, mostly serial volumes, to the SAL3 storage facility. SearchWorks shows the current location of every book and journal and includes a link to page the print volume from storage.

SearchWorks shows distinct locations for the two collections. If SearchWorks shows that an item is located at the Mathematics & Statistics Library, it will be found at Falconer Biology Library.

If you can’t find what you need, ask us.

Circulation, overdue items, and fines

The two collections continue to have different policies regarding loan periods, overdue items, and fines.  Be aware of due dates when you check out.

Future changes

Our staff has begun to plan for our move into the combined science library. That library will combine Falconer and Math-Stat Libraries with Swain Library of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering in a new facility in the Old Chem Building. The current estimated opening date for the renovated building is the first half of 2016.
