As part of its mission to preserve historically and legally valuable records of the University, Stanford Archives regularly archives many Stanford websites. This service differs from the backup and storage options offered by University IT primarily in that the archived websites are preserved and remain browsable in perpetuity. Once archived, older versions of the websites can be searched or browsed via Archive-It or the Stanford Web Archive Portal (SWAP).
If you do not see your website archived there, wish to prompt a more timely snapshot (e.g., in anticipation of an imminent redesign or site deprecation), or would like assistance in locating historical Stanford web content, please let us know.
