Western Regional Storage Trust (WEST) Initiative
The Stanford Libraries are a founding member of the Western Regional Storage Trust (WEST), a collaborative, sustainable journal archiving program that involves more than 22 regional partners. The dual goals of the program are preserving and providing access to the scholarly print record, while facilitate space reclamation in storage facilities. Stanford serves as an Archive Builder in the program, and leverages its climate controlled storage facility, SAL3, to support the long-term archiving of hundreds of journal titles. Though stored remotely, journals archived for WEST can be accessed by request.
