Service

The Spotlight at Stanford Service Team supports, guides, and promotes the development and deployment of Stanford Libraries Spotlight exhibit service, which enables the creation of collaborative exhibits of digital collection materials held in the Stanford Digital Repository (SDR) in support of the University’s teaching, learning, and research mission.

Team members work with fellow Libraries staff, as well as Stanford faculty, researchers, students, and campus content managers, to:

Support the user community

  • Provide training and workshops for current and potential Spotlight users

  • Assist Spotlight exhibit creators in creating, developing, and publishing exhibit sites, as well as maintaining exhibits over time

  • Create and maintain exhibit creator documentation

Guide the Spotlight at Stanford service

  • Develop policies to integrate the Spotlight service into University and Stanford Libraries workflows, including deposit of content into the SDR

  • Inform future Spotlight service development to optimize its effectiveness in featuring Stanford Libraries digital collections in support of teaching, learning, and research

Promote the Spotlight at Stanford service

  • Encourage adoption of the Spotlight at Stanford service by developing a robust and supportive community of practice

  • Collaborate with colleagues at other institutions to promote development and adoption of Spotlight beyond Stanford

The Spotlight at Stanford Service Team includes representatives from across Stanford Libraries.
