Education

Class visits

We currently offer virtual class visits to the Rumsey Center. Our staff can recommend engaging maps from our collection or lead class discussions on the history of maps and related topics. Please contact us to schedule your visit.

We also work with students and classes to help them create digital stories and exhibitions.

Resources

To help students think about maps more broadly, we’ve partnered with National History Day (NHD) to develop a website for students. Though it's made for NHD, we think that anyone interested in using maps as primary sources could use it.

We've created a comics-inspired guide to explain why we here at the Center love maps and what we can learn from them.
