COVID-19 Community Archiving Project

Stanford University freshman wearing gauze masks during 1918 influenza epidemic

Introduction

The Stanford Archives has embarked on a community archiving project to document the impact of COVID-19 on our community. Records of your experience will support current and future students, faculty, and others who will want to understand how the COVID-19 pandemic has uprooted our community and transformed our work and lives.

There are many ways you can contribute to this effort.

Share content with the Archives

The Stanford Archives wants to learn more about your personal experience of the pandemic: on campus, at home, or elsewhere. We welcome all contributions, and are especially interested in hearing from community members from historically marginalized groups, first-generation/low income students, international students, and graduate students and others still living on or near the Stanford campus.

We are also interested in documenting the experiences and activities of community groups during this pandemic.

Please send links to files (diaries, videos, images, email, creative projects, etc.), questions about this initiative, or suggestions to universityarchives@stanford.edu. While we can accommodate restrictions, our goal is to make the content available for research.

Help us plan for an Oral History Project

To preserve a first-person account of this time and to document both individual experiences and institutional responses, the Stanford Historical Society Oral History Program and the Stanford University Archives are embarking on the Stanford University COVID-19 Oral History Project.

Help us determine who should be interviewed and what topics should be discussed, or volunteer to help, by filling out this planning form.
