About Endowed Book Funds for the Swain Library
A bequest established in 2013. the William Sunley Anderson Fund will support the acquisition of library materials in Chemistry as well as software, hardware, and services needed to support discovery, access, use, or analysis of those resources.
The David M. Mason Chemical Engineering Class of 1968 Memorial Book Fund was established in 1993 by students of the chemical engineering class of '68 in memory of David Mason, founder of the Chemical Engineering Department and cherished professor at Stanford. The Albert H. & Ethel G. Reinert Fund was established in 1995 from the estate of Stanley G. Reinert (AB '30). The fund supports the field of chemistry. See recent Albert H. and Ethel G. Reinert Fund purchases.
Established in 1989, the R. Arthur & Juliette Tiernan Endowed Book Fund supports the field of chemistry and was established by John (AB '36, MD '41) and Sallie (AB '45) Reynolds in honor of Sallie Reynolds' parents. In 2013, the name of this fund was changed to Sallie ’45, R. Arthur & Juliette Tiernan Endowed Book Fund by Chris Seaver (MBA ’79, JD ’79) in honor of his mother Sallie.
