Love Data Week returns to Stanford from February 12-16, 2024. The Libraries are organizing this second annual, Stanford-wide event to showcase and celebrate all things related to research data: analysis, curation, generation, management, preservation, visualization and more!

Over the course of Valentine’s Day week, members of the Stanford community will see workshops on topics ranging from AI training data and copyright law to NIH data management plans; from crunching data with R or Python to turning handwritten text into computable data with Transkribus.

The flagship event will be the Love Data Week Fair on Wednesday, February 14th from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM in the Mackenzie Room on the 3rd floor of Huang Engineering Center in the Science and Engineering Quad. The fair will feature data resources and data service providers from across Stanford, interactive activities and (of course) tasty treats, concluding with an exciting lineup of lightning talks.

Throughout the week, community members can also join the Love Data Week BioBlitz to contribute observations of biodiversity at Stanford’s Palo Alto campus and the Hopkins Marine Station. This year also marks the first ever Love Data Week Raffle: Raffle entrants can win the opportunity to capture a high-resolution satellite image of a specific place and time, a custom-knitted design from the Textile Makerspace, and other incredible prizes.
