A video tour of the Libraries’ digitization labs and the various types of materials – manuscripts, books, maps, born-digital resources and audiovisual content – handled there has been posted on YouTube.

We are pleased to announce that Hugh Robinson has joined Enterprise Systems & Programming as a CourseWork Software Developer. His primary focus will be supporting and enhancing CourseWork, Stanford University’s primary Learning Management System.

Hugh came from Tufts University, where he worked since 2009 as the senior web application developer. Before that he worked at Pearson Education and Co-nect, as well as a number of companies in the financial industry.

Hugh is on the second floor of Meyer Library, Room 260. Please stop by and say hi to him.

High-volume book scanning lab

In October, approximately 22,000 images representing nearly 20,000 items were accessioned into the Stanford Digital Repository (SDR). These materials include ~ 17,000 automobile-related images from the Revs collection, 130 additional books from the Stephen J Gould collection, Beethoven scores from the Memorial Library of Music, and early twentieth century photographs of YWCA in China from the East Asia Library.
