Text and data mining

The Center for Interdisciplinary Digital Research (CIDR) and its public-service access point, Software and Services for Data Science (SSDS), provide numerous workshop and consulting services for topics ranging from learning how to get started with text data to text classification, large language models, and other machine and deep learning trends.

Who is eligible

Everyone in the Stanford community is eligible for our services. Consult with SSDS if you have general questions about research dealing with R, Python, Stata, Bash, GitHub, MS Excel, and other tools. Contact CIDR if you have a more general question about Digital Scholarship and use of computational tools across the social sciences and humanities.

What to expect

Expect to meet an expert who will help you solidify knowledge of your data, research framework, and methods applications. This can be as formal or informal as necessary, and repeat consultations are encouraged as you progress through your project. Our conversations set patrons on the road to success. If we cannot help, we will find someone who can.
