About us
The Acquisitions department provides essential support for licensing and purchasing materials selected by subject specialists. Our team of dedicated experts collaborate across multiple university divisions to negotiate agreements and acquire information sources in a variety formats, languages, and subject areas.
Supplying materials for Stanford
New suppliers
Acquisitions specialists assist suppliers in getting set up to do business with Stanford and can support payees in maintaining their Stanford supplier record. An active supplier record is a prerequisite for invoicing and payment.
New contracts
Contracts for digital content, archival materials, and associated services are reviewed and negotiated by acquisitions librarians prior to purchase confirmation and invoicing. New contract offers can be directed to relevant subject specialists.
Gifts-in-kind
Subject specialists review and approve gift-in-kind offers. Materials approved for delivery to Stanford Libraries can be shipped to the Acquisitions department.
