About us

Software and Services for Data Science (SSDS) in Green Library is the public-services point for the Center for Interdisciplinary Digital Research (CIDR). We exist to help students, postdocs, staff, and faculty with virtually all aspects of their research projects through workshops and one-on-one consultations using the R, Python, Stata, and Bash programming languages along with other software and tools such as Microsoft Excel. We specialize in onboarding beginners to programming languages and to the overall research process and can assist with more complex aspects of data wrangling, visualization, and analysis along with computational text analysis and machine or deep learning.
SSDS offers assistance in creating customized learning experiences to accomplish your goals in a friendly community setting. Whether you are starting or completing a thesis or dissertation, making a conference poster, preparing a talk, or submitting an article manuscript, we help you learn the requisite skills to correctly represent yourself and your research at each stage of the process. As a premier learning auxiliary on campus, we also offer professional development support for writing and presentation of research.
