Transcripts and captions are an essential part of accessing media content online. Stanford Libraries offers transcription and captioning services for digitized archival media at no cost to our patrons.
To request captions and a transcript for digitized archival media that is part of Stanford Libraries collections, please use the Feedback button on the top right of the page you are viewing the item on, or email our team with a link to the item you would like to have captioned.
Who is eligible
We welcome transcription and captioning requests from all library patrons.
What to expect
When your request has been received, we will email you with an estimated turnaround time. Once we receive the completed transcript, we will send it to you via email. Due to technical limitations, captions won’t appear alongside the video in our media player, but we would be happy to create a copy of the video with captions included, if required.
