Welcome to Stanford Libraries!

Another academic year is here, and during your visit, we are here to help and facilitate your research needs. A few things may have changed since you last visited, so please take time to get updated with the latest.
 

Try out Mobile Key

You can use your mobile device to enter library buildings and checkout at circulation desks. Download the Stanford Mobile app on your mobile device today, and start using your Mobile Key today. 

  1. Launch the Stanford mobile app. 
  2. Tap on Me, your person icon.
  3. Tap on the gear icon (SUNet login required).
  4. Tap Add Mobile Key

The installation takes about 5 minutes or less to complete. Learn more about Stanford's Mobile Key.
 

Building access to library buildings

All library buildings require an active plastic Stanford ID card or a Mobile Key to enter. No exceptions will be made.
 

New Library Hours

Please visit Green Library's web page for the latest hours. Green Library is now open at 8 a.m. Monday through Friday, and close late on Fridays at 7 p.m. Visit the Libraries Hours web page for a list of hours for all Stanford libraries.

Here is a glimpse at Green Library’s Fall quarter hours:

  • Sunday - 12pm-12am
  • Monday – 8am-12am
  • Tuesday – 8am-12am
  • Wednesday – 8am-12am
  • Thursday – 8am-12am
  • Friday – 8am-7pm
  • Saturday – 10am-6pm
     

General library policies

When visiting Stanford Libraries, don’t forget to bring your water in a sealable container. Unfortunately, no food or drinks are allowed inside the buildings. General photography is also not allowed, but you can request permission from the Stanford Libraries administration.

Please note that service dogs are welcome at the Libraries. This policy is consistent with Stanford’s Service and Support Animal policies.

Upon exiting the library

Please do not leave your belongings unattended, or leave the building without your items. If you need to store books at Green Library, please apply for a locker.

Upon exiting Green Library, all users will be asked to open their bags and scan any Stanford Libraries materials.
 

The Media Center space has been refreshed

The Media Center, located on the lower level of Green Library, now offers more study space, chairs, and tables for studying. The center also now has a PlayStation 5, tabletop games, and ping pong table!
